Horace, ND — VerumGen Labs, LLC has opened an independent biotechnology laboratory in the Fargo–Moorhead region, expanding access to professional research infrastructure and analytical expertise in an area where flexible bioscience facilities remain limited.
Operating at Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2), the Horace-based laboratory supports molecular and cell-based workflows and is equipped with essential instrumentation for a broad range of biotechnology research. VerumGen provides services and consulting in early-stage research and experimental development, analytical method development, and technical troubleshooting and process optimization. The facility also offers bench space and equipment access, enabling startups and early-career scientists to conduct professional-grade research without major capital investment.
“VerumGen reflects both my scientific formation and a long-standing desire to build something lasting and well-ordered,” said founder Andrzej Noyszewski, Ph.D., who earned his doctorate at North Dakota State University. “Good science depends not only on technology or equipment, but on how experiments are designed, how data are interpreted, and how results are presented. VerumGen was created to model that approach in practice and to pass this formation on to others.”
A central focus of the laboratory’s work is the development of analytical tools that support gene therapy products, including the Universal AAV Standard, a technology intended to improve reliability and standardization in the gene therapy field.
“Advanced therapies depend on measurements researchers can trust,” Noyszewski said. “Our work focuses on improving analytical reliability so results are consistent, comparable, and scientifically sound across research, production, and dosing stages.”
VerumGen is designed to function as a flexible research hub and collaborative partner, supporting projects that may be difficult to conduct within traditional institutional settings. The laboratory integrates hands-on research with experience in experimental design, data analysis, and translational pathways, serving both established investigators and emerging innovators.
Looking ahead, VerumGen aims to contribute to the continued growth of the Fargo–Moorhead bioscience ecosystem by providing analytical expertise, flexible research support, and a culture rooted in rigor and intellectual responsibility. The company welcomes collaboration with academic, medical, industry, and international partners.
